I too am sadly having the same problem:
Asus K50ID Thought I was going mad, as I was using Mint 9 with no hassles
on this notebook. I first tried Mint 10 RC, which is based on Ubuntu 10.10 and
got the freezing. Then I decided it must be because of it being a RC so

It doesnt seem to be uploading any data to the site. There is a folder
that is not updating as I am making changes, So i created a new folder
and added data to that - left it for about 2 hours. there is still no
changes.

Likewise here too, I have just recently installed Fiesty i386 within a
virtual machine for testing purposes - no matter what I do I cannot save
changes from dhcp to static - once you close they are forgotten.
Any one have news on this bug?

I have been extracting fine recently:
I have a few Rar files i created in windows that work fine containing movies
for backup. When i try unrar them in Ubunutu it crashes when its about to
complete.
the files size is 4.4gig once extracted - and about 58/59 rar files make it
