I have a fresh installation of 11.10 64 bit. I can confirm that rpcbind
is not starting at boot time. In my case, I needed to mount some NFS
directories from another server. Since rpcbind doesn't start, statd
fails. This, in turn, causes the NFS mounts to fail. I've tried
tracking through the
Installed Karmic on a Acer Aspire 5315 over the weekend. System started
shutting down randomly. Finally, I saw a CPU over temp warning in
dmesg. This turned out to be the cause of the shutdowns. With Karmic
installed, I never heard the fan kick on at all. Reverted to a backup
of Jaunty and fan
This also affects 9.04 (Jaunty). After installation of bluez package
there is no hcid daemon and no /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf file. Unable to
pair my phone with the bluetooth adapter because I cannot define a pin
number for the adapter without hcid.conf.

kipi-plugins needs vorbis-tools as a dependency. The images2mpg script
looks for ogg123 and will fail if it can't find it. I'm running Hardy
