It only happened with the same flash dive I installed with,but with
ubuntu 8.10 it recognize the usb flash so i'll set it to closed

/dev/sdb1 it the usb flash from where I installed ubuntu, but after the
instalation(reboot) everytime I plug a usb flash it isn't recognized.
If you look in my /etc/fstab(attached) you'll see that /dev/sda1 is recognized
as an cd-rom

restart if you insert an usb flash drive it won't be recognized.

When i login as root a windows tells me that i'm running as root, well
duh.i think it's unnecessary because the root account is disabled by
default.the window should be removed or should have a "Don't show this
window ever" switch.

double click on network manager -> wired network ->static ip -> close
->restart :)
