Same problem here, obviously. I would be interested in the workaround though, especially because I think we'll see major dual screen updates with 8.10 if they upgrade to the new XOrg (maybe I'm wrong on that though). Other workaround is to use two browsers (Opera / Firefox) or so.. -- dual/mult

Proposal changing binary hint to openoffice.org-gtk1:2.3.0-1ubuntu2 as the problem can be solved by simply uninstalling the package. This will make all dialogs look ugly, but at least you can now enjoy openoffice, which is not possible with this bug active. Possibly, it could also be the openoff

Can confirm the bug, even with some repercussions on: avant window navigator and OpenOffice.org 2.3 Avant will load, but it will stick to the top left corner of my screen (looks really ugly, and half of the menu is hidden behind it). Restart avant after the workaround fixes the problem, but only
