Thanks for the response. I have no idea what it means, however. This stuff
is over my head. I've been happily using Ubuntu on this machine for the past
5 versions. I also have a Sony Vaio desktop that's working fine with 10.4
LTS, though it has older hardware. I'm sure it's time to upgrade but I'm
