In Ubuntu 20.04 I had the problem that the automatic suspend
notification didn't disappear moving the mouse. I had to literally close
the pop up by clicking on the X. I noticed that in Power Settings, "Dim
Screen When Inactive" was turned off. I tried to turn it on, and now the
pop up disappear by

Being Aug.2013 and this problem/bug remains the same :D
openSUSE installs easily in that hdd with raid, but it does not detect any
windows to dual boot.
Ubuntu's 12.04, 12.10 and 13.04 just do not see any hdd/partition. Really sad.

NEW drivers for Karmic in PPA. Also check the update for mesa. Perhaps that's
the solution. There's a note saying that this mesa for the R600 requires a
different DRM libraries, which are not in the PPA. In my previous comment I

Update: new xorg-ati drivers in edgers ppa. Problem solved (I can log in
with mode setting enabled), video output and openGL apps work as they
should. Check if the update is good for you all as well.

Oh, I almost forgot: in order to login, I just add "nomodeset" to my
boot options. I'm using mainline kernel 2.6.31rc7, and X was working

I found this problem also in Jaunty/i386. I just checked all updates (so
libdrm, mesa and ati driver where synced) and is still no go. I found
this in two of my GDM logs:

I am having the same issue with Ubuntu 08.10. That is, the top brown menu bar
does not go from brown to transparent but completely dissappears everytime I am
working with firefox, and is restored by hitting F11 button.
