This can be fixed by installing compizconfig-settings-manager and tuning
the edge resistance values. I was able to get a good results with:
Launcher Reveal Edge Responsiveness = 1
Launcher Reveal Pressure = 1

Ubuntu Desktop Guide >> Tips & Tricks >> Compose key
The manual is guiding users to set their "Compose" key from "Region and
Language" setting tab in system settings. This does not exist any more.
As far as I can see, there is no option to set the compose key currently
in 11.
i feel that large icons (although nice for tablet use) do not work well
with most tasks I need to accomplish at the office. It just does not

One solution would also be to change the text color to dark-gray in
cases when the background is too white. I don't know how easy it would
be to implement though.
Anyways, dash is quite unusable right now unless I close all my nautilus

I have a dirty fix which I use to get the battery indicator on the bar
1) Install package powertop

But this is so annoying. Why is the battery not recognized sometimes and
other times found? I wish there was an option to say that the mach
I would not get my hopes up :) this affects very small group of people.
Users who use more than one DE are probably more proficient in unix
systems and would not use the automatic login feature anyway
and since there is the easy fix - disable automatic login - i don't
think this gets ever fixed :(
how to reproduce the bug:
1) create new test user with system-administration-users...

3) log out and try to log in with the new user using a different desktop

Ok,
To explain a little: Ubuntu users, who have disabled password logins are
unable to switch desktop environments due to the fact that the selection
menu appears only after "selecting" the user. In the case of no set
password, the user selection leads to automatic login.
This is a serious oversi
Mark - how about you moving the exiting new stuff you are going to
implement to the left side, and leaving buttons to the right? :) or is
the menu going to be the obstacle then?
Why is the right upper corner so important? I guess it has something to
do with the indication pop-ups. But LOWER right
Launchers (icons) should be coherent within the OS. I think it would be
much better if Ubuntu would use it's new font to create new icons, which
would also better connect to the default icon theme.
