Sorry...I totally forgot this bug. The problem is still here. I thought
to be resolved in the last kernel release (2.6.15) but it was for a
workaround I found: I added the line
modprobe -r battery && modprobe battery
into the acpid script, just before starting acpi daemon. So I solved the
problem
Wrong title for this bug. Is not a powernowd related problem. Changing
it.
** Changed in: powernowd (Ubuntu)
Sourcepackagename: powernowd => None
** Summary changed:
- Powernowd doesn't work on a Intel P4
+ CPU scaling doesn't work on a Intel P4

CPU scaling doesn't work on a Intel P4
https:
Using Option "XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps" in device section of xorg.conf file
solved the problem for me. I'm using a ATI Radeon IGP345M with radeon
driver.

Cairo and ATI RENDER extension cause scrambled buttons in UbuntuLooks

Public bug reported:
On my Laptop (Sony Vaio PCG K195 HP) powernod doesn't load needed modules.
Manually executing /usr/share/powernowd/cpufreq-detect.sh gives no output (CPU
is not recognized?).
My CPU info are:
processor : 0
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 15
model
It seems to be the same problem of bug #48716, but note that I don't have
problem with colors. The graphic on the button is just "scrambled".
If I move the mouse pointer over a "bad button", the picture is repainted
correctly.
