I tried what was mentioned recently namely that if you unplug before
suspending and only plugin after resuming, then the bug doesn't trigger,
and for me it did not work. First I left it in a short suspending then
it worked, but that seems to work anyway no matter if it is plugged in
or not. Second

I still use ubuntu 10.04, but I downloaded the iso image of Natty
Narwhal (11.04 desktop amd64), burnt it, and tried it out from CD. It
worked out.

I have exactly the same problem. However, I am using official version of Ubuntu
10.04 which I got upgrading from 9.10.
I have HP Pavilion dv7-1175nr notebook. I have to mention that it worked in
version 9.10.
