I have the same problem, but so far, only noticed it with vi. What
causes the behavior for me is what text below the cursor gets pushed
down the screen, like when a line is inserted. I keep having to refresh
the screen with Ctrl+L. I only started having this problem after
upgrading to the nvidia
i've been having this same problem since upgrading to intrepid. nice
tip on killing it (Control-\)!
