Looks like an Ubuntu change which has broken several applications. Is
this a fault in Ubuntu or are application developers expected to make
changes to support the new scheme?

Please feel free to send some examples to kelv...@users.sf.net. There
were changes made in 0.7.3 which improved support for international
characters in filenames - it sounds like there may have been some side
effect with these particular files/filenames.

Binary package hint: python-central
Upgrading to 10.04, the installer hung on "Setting up python-central".
After half an hour I had to open a terminal and kill the "python-
central" process, after which the installer continued but with many
errors due to the failed python-cen

This has now been fixed in PyKaraoke v0.7.3. The About window in recent
versions of PyKaraoke used a control which is only available in WxPython
v2.8, which means that the About window does not work with the o

This looks like a dependency on WxPython v2.8+. The wx.AboutDialogInfo()
control is not available in earlier versions of Wx.

pykaraoke crashed with AttributeError in OnAbout(
This has been fixed in PyKaraoke CVS today: unicode filename support was
broken by some user contributions. This will be rolled into a PyKaraoke
v0.7.3 release, but meanwhile is available from Sourceforge CVS while
testing takes place.

The problem occurred because during upgrade of the python-minimal
package, it attempted to copy the '/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages'
folder to some other location with the name 'old-site-packages'. The
'old-site-packages' did not exist. It seems that I had a site-packages
folder under /usr/lib/py
