It's the same for me with a dapper with the last update(and before)...
With or without DRI activated it freezes randomly. I've got the feeling with
DualHead even more. My record is 4 freezes per hour.
Know I work with the vesa Driver which don't freeze.
With Breezy this never happened to me.

the same for me I have a IBM thinkpad x24 with a "ATI Technologies, Inc.
Radeon Mobility 7000 (M6 LY) 1" and use the radeon driver too and since
I updated to dapper I have this freezes too.
