For me, the new version doesn't work either. Actually, the graphics are
best with all additional drivers deactivated. I will attach my
jockey.log.

Sorry, I thought I had answered this questions. Maybe it was in the other
thread, I remember there were two of them and one was closed. Well, however:
1) Visual Effects are enabled ("Extra" out of the options "Keine", "Normal" and
"Extra" my German Ubuntu-Version gives me).
2) I never noticed it
