I have burn and verified another image at low speed and it is still
the same issue.
I am not sure what is going on. Alpha 3 worked just fine, and still
does. I'll try a USB live startup later this weekend (have to grab it
from home!).

(evdev) and then when I use the mouse it reloads it with the "default" settings

I have started up synaptic package manager and it was able to figure
out it had to uninstall nvidia-glx before performing the upgrade. After
the upgrade, I reinstalled nvidia-glx and everything worked fine.
