I have the same problem, no root menu entry. I've of course added this myself, but it doesn't seem to have come back at all even after fully upgrading to Hardy stable release. -- no run as root in menu in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209084 You received this bug notification because you

[Bug 198884] Re: Wireshark 0.99.7 halted in Hardy

2008-05-02 Thread jhodapp
I have the same problem running the most up-to-date Hardy packages as of this posting. If I run as gksu Wireshark complains about running as user root group root and hangs when I click on the "Options" button for any of the capture interfaces. If I run from the command line via sudo, I don't get a

This problem still exists for me as well in the 8.04 RC version. What happened to the patch that luc submitted over a year ago? I know proxies suck and aren't as common as they might have once been, but there are still many companies that use them and this is a hindrance to Ubuntu's easy and slick

Public bug reported: I installed skyeye and it didn't require any dependencies that I didn't already have installed. Once I tried to run skyeye from the command line via "skyeye", I received the following error: "skyeye: error while loading shared libraries: libbfd-2.17.50.0.6.so: cannot open shar

I did try that after you suggested it, it didn't help any. The screen still just stays black with the cursor able to move but nothing else happening and GNOME not coming back. If it helps you any, I am using the nVidia restricted drivers with Beryl and Emerald. On 4/12/07, Ulrich Lukas <[EMAIL PR

I used to be able to suspend and hibernate with 6.10, but after installing the nVidia drivers, I can no longer resume from suspend or hibernate...the screen comes back up, I can move the mouse cursor around, but it remains black and I can't do anything but hard reboot the machine. This is on a Dell
