So two points:
#1 Test with gnome-settings-daemon 3.6 from gnome3-team
* this doesn't solve my issue
$ dpkg -s gnome-settings-daemon
Package: gnome-settings-daemon
Status: install ok installed
Priority: optional
Section: gnome
Installed-Size: 7191
Maintainer: Ubuntu D
killing xserver with key combination ctrl+alt+back space lets me login
to shell again. But all open probrams are lost.
