Vinagre was able to connect to my OSX box without any further trouble.

Does anybody have a work-around for this, in the meantime?
I am able to replicate Nick Barcet's steps, and verify that the error
message does in fact change to:
Authentication method to host "192.168.1.108:5900" is
unsupported. (30)

Attempting to connect to my OSX Tiger machine, via vinagre, results in
the following error message:
Connection to host "hostname.org:5900" was closed.
Gutsy's xtightvncviewer was able to connect to this machine
successfully.
