I tested Karmic Alpha 2 (kernel 2.6.30-8) via liveCD (actually it was a USB stick :) ). The driver reports stronger signal, it went from 15% in Jaunty to 65% in Karmic, although I 'm not really sure whether this really means anything or they just changed the method of measurement. Connection seems

After trying release Alpha 5 of Ubuntu 9.04 (kernel version: 2.6.28-8), I must say my problems seem fixed. I no longer deal with connection hangs when downloading torrents.
