I am using a Dell XPS M1530 with an Intel Wireless 3945abg wireless
network adapter, with the appropriate driver. Most of the times the
wireless system fails to work in Ubuntu, except when i "warm up" the
wireless adapter by use ( either through vista or by using Dell's wifi

Ok the problem is the file association. Right-click on any arbitrary
folder in nautilus, and go to properties > the open with tab. The select
"folder".

No cheese is the only program using the webcam. I tried camorama also,
it says it cannot connect to /dev/video0. Both programs generate no
error messages in the system logs or when launched from terminal.

I am using gnome-sound-recorder and it is not working properly. It
apparently thinks that seconds are minutes, and after recording for 33
seconds turns out as a 33 minute recording. Apparently the problem is
system-wide and I am pretty sure it is a ALSA problem.

It is only cheese that is affected, even after a reinstall of cheese.
Skype can detect video from the webcam.

I am using the latest updated beta of ubuntu 8.10. I have discovered
another bug. When i go to the "places" menu, none of the "Documents"
"Pictures" "Videos" and other shortcuts work. However, the all the
buttons below the separator work.
