running aticonfig --initial on my Radeon 9700 pro after a manual
installation on Intrepid. Jockey is still not displaying anything for
restricted drivers. Is this still intentional because of this issue?

Hello, I switched to the open source radeon driver and I noticed one
slight difference in the random freezes (which still occur as I
suspected). Now with the open source driver, I have the ability to move
the mouse upon lock up, but that is it. No ctrl+alt+backspace, nothing.

After further testing, I am still experiencing the same issues with
Compiz disabled running the fglrx driver. No mouse, no keyboard.
However, when I disable Compiz, the freezes happen much less often (but
still do occur from time to time).

specifically to XMMS. I have seen the freeze playing video as well. In
XMMS, when the freeze occurs, the current song in the playlist will
finish playing, but the next song in the playlist will not start once
