I am still at a loss. I monitored the cpu utilization On dapper vs edgy when
using glxgears. I have a Centrino Duo 2300. When running dapper live cd, the
cpu (only one is detected by default) goes to 100% as I would suspect it.
When running edgy, the cpus (it detects both by default), are running

I used glxgears -printfps to determine the fps. I noticed that TUX and
googleearth are slow compared to dapper. As I understand it, I cannot
turn off composite.

when using the i810 driver for the Intel i945 on a Dell Inspiron 1505 under
Dapper I get about 1710 fps with the live cd without any config changes and no
errors upon launching.
When using Edgy (latest dist-upgrade) I only get a

when setting the time to 1 minute it never kicks on. If password required is
checked, it never gets to that point and leave the session exposed.

The 3.5.3 update caused the screensaver to no longer work. It is a KDE
bug but has been fixed already. The package needs to be rebuild with the
lastest KDE fixes.
