The workaround hasn't worked for me. When I run the kill command i get
this result:
kill: usage: kill [-s sigspec | -n signum | -sigspec] pid | jobspec ...
or kill -l [sigspec]
I tried to find the pid using ps -aef and dont see anything like
/usr/lib/unity-lens-applications

Thanks I was just about to report back. Yes mutter was stuck on the
gnome-shell version despite ppa-purge
As well as the 3 mutter packages I had to also downgrade
libgirepository1.0-0
gir1.0-freedesktop
Which were stuck on the gnome-shell versions. Unity is working now

I just installed Unity in Maverick desktop (64bit) and get the same
problem. I can still see the cursor and when I press the print screen
button the Screenshot Dialog box appears but everything else is
blindingly white

I'm trying that but the hardware drivers method isn't working, it isn't finding
any proprietary drivers. the ubuntu x team ppa is also not working, it give
this result:

I tried that, it says "No proprietary drivers are in use on this
system." I'm not sure what to do, but my computer overheated yesterday
and now i need the motherboard replaced so i would like to figure this
out.

I have similar issues with double separators, icons overlapping, and
sections white out. I'll attach screen shots of other examples when they
happen again

[Lucid] Panel applets have problem
I can confirm that I lost spellcheck in Lucid Alpha1 using the Gwibber
daily PPA, as Mike Basinger said above installing python-gtkspell fixed
it.
Maybe some updates are uninstalling it?

3 bars but during record I get lot of noise and only a

Ok. I had the same problem. Affected only Preferences / Administration /
Help and Support / About Gnome / About Ubuntu and just setting true
/desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons resolved the problem. But
