this appears to only affect usb image made in windows 7 using pendrive or
unetbootin. usb made in linux using dd works as expected.

installer crashes out as i specify swap after specifying / occurs in both 12.04

Since I first used ubuntu ans kubuntu and filling bug reports it has become
obvious there is a lack of
similar issue but generally can reach the desktop using nomodeset and
install and reboot using nomodeset to desktop but once the nvidia
proprietery driver is installed I am then unable to boot to login screen
even adding nomodeset

I just run the livecd of 10.10 without install and had the lan fail on booting
windows.
The usual power off resolves.
Still means that installing Ubuntu at the moment is not an option.

I am noticing that the problem is directional also.
Copying from sdb to sda was about 37.5 MB/s and the other direction sda to sdb
was 11.8 MB/s for the same 1.6 GB file.
