Setting the option to "Show system tray icon" in 'Settings > Configure >

Kopete windows and then reopen them from the mess
I've got the same issue in Kubuntu 11.10. I launch Kopete, it opens and
signs in as it should, but if I close the buddy list window, I cannot
reopen it from the message indicator.
