This bug affects me two.
It's exatly like Till Kamppeter has described.
Some Ubuntu versions have worked ok, then comes a new one and my hp 1020 stops
working and it's goes on and on.
It's very annoying why can we have this working once and for all.

I have a main computer with ubuntu and a htpc with mint. Too make the tranfers
i have to initiate them from Mint instead of from Ubuntu. That way it doesn't
hangs.

When i enter pidgin with an ms account like usern...@hotmail.com it
works fine, but when i try to enter a registered username like
usern...@gmail.com it crashes during startup.

are much better.
Please, think about change to it.
