I would also very much like this resolved. It would make the 800x480 resolution
on my asus eee much more usable.

I can confirm this behavior.
xrandr --panning option resizes my desktop correctly but only allows 1 pixel
panning in each direction.
I was really hoping to get this working on my Asus eeepc 701.

Luckily, as I did an upgrade from Hardy, I still have the old kernel
(2.6.24-21-generic #1 SMP) installed as a fall-back option. Camera works as
before with this kernel.
The difference is that it's loading the
2.6.24-21-generic/ubuntu/media/gspcav1/gspca.ko which no longer exists in the
Interp
I've got the same problem with the Microsoft VX-3000. Worked perfectly
on Hardy. What's going on here?
