Hum, it's a bit strange but I'm not able to reproduce ... Perhaps

Running 10.04 from install CD seems no problem (I only did the
installation, no live session). But when restarting from newly installed
hard disk, the system crashs during splash screen : the display is

Hi,
Before upgrading my system to 10.4, I tried to boot on the live CD.
Unfortunately, no Gnome panels is displayed. TO be more precise, gray
bares are displayed on the top and bottom of the screen (but only 2/3
screen long) but don't containing any
I think the problem is with the driver of this card which is very poorly
supported : as example, Ubuntu is unable to detect the monitor attached
to this device (always displayed as unknown) whereas the same one is
perfectly detected on another machine as per Question #93091.

I own a dual head graphic card but nothing is displayed on the 2nd
monitor.
The "Display" preference detects only one screen which is display as
