So, I still have this problem in Ubuntu 9.10 with kernel 2.6.31, as well
as in ubuntu 8.04, 8.10, 9.04... Please just find a way how to fix it.

In Jaunty it still doesn't work... My laptop restarts when I'm trying to
sleep its, and then hung. As I understand almost all latest LG laptops
by the way which very popular in exUSSR countries, don't work normally
with Ubuntu/Linux kernel.
PS: I tested not just with 2.6.28 kernel, but with 2.6.29
and also I have in /proc/mtrr:
