I have this problem in Quantal and want to try the proposed compiz fix
in #40. However, when I try to install the quantal/proposed version of
compiz using apt or synaptic, it wants to uninstall ubuntu-desktop...
obviously not good. How can I get around this conflict?

I'm experiencing an even more severe version of this bug on Natty with
Meld 1.5.0-0ubuntu1 - if I open files with Windows line endings, Meld
simply stops responding with the status message "Computing differences"

Just FYI, I solved my problem by adding "text[NORMAL] =
@selected_fg_color" to the Dust gtkrc file, under style = "panel", as
described at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11024027#post11024027 . I'm not
sure if this is exactly the same issue others are having, but it might
help.

Actually, I don't know that this is specific to upgrading- I've never
had Maverick installed (fresh install of Natty), and am seeing this
issue. Very annoying.

I saw this in 9.10, and was very hopeful that upgrading to 10.04 would
fix it, but no cigar :( This morning I started seeing these errors
again. For me, they only occur on cron tasks. Symptoms include not being
able to log in via SSH or IMAP for the duration of the errors.
