My Ubuntu has not been booting properly. Also the update/upgrade keeps giving

I have been trying to format but my dvd/cd writer is not being recognised nor

In the set-up boxes, there is no box, space or anything for me to put in
my Yahoo password for logging in. I used it fine when I was on Maverick
Meerkat but after upgrading to Natty Narwhal, I have found it to be
