In Kbuntu 10.10 after having configured the Japanese IM (ibus, anthy) - from
command line and through GTK config dialog, no settings are exposed in KDE, but
that's another issue - nothing gets displayed in the input method panel.
Same here, blacklisted rt2800pci and it works. Happened also with lucid
when I installed 2.6.34, 2.6.35 is the same.
The problem seems to be that the kernel loads both drivers at the same
time. Unloading rt2800pci and loading rt2860sta works fine. Unloading
rt2860sta and loading rt2800pci also wor
The freeze is reproducible on both 2.6.35-15 and 2.6.35-14 but not on 2.6.34.

Unfortunately I was wrong. The problem persists with my system upgraded to
jaunty.
The testing I've done was on Kubuntu live cd, probably kde handles things
differently from gnome/compiz.

Already tested with Kubuntu alpha 4 live cd and X does not reboot, both with
effects turned on and off.
Note: Jaunty includes major update for Intel graphics drivers, I'm not sure EXA
is still used.

X server restarts itself with Compiz enabled on Intel 945GM integrated gfx card
(laptop) running a particular java program. The program simply displays an SVG
image (can provide the program w/ sources).
