with the source version gfax 0.7.7 there is a postinstall.sh script that
you run to finalise the install.
This script:
- creates /var/spool/gfax and sets its permissions. Without this dir gfax
crashes on startup.

Never mind my comment, stumbled upon disabling splash in
/var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386/pxelinux.cfg/default and found that fixed
it. Looks like something buggy with my hardware.

Are the clients never getting the GUI?
I've got a 9.10 LTSP install where a client has about a 60% chance of
getting LDM on bootup, the rest of the time I'm just getting the chroot
text login as described. Does this sound like the same problem or
something different?
