memory mode in BIOS to:
DDR2-667 instead of -800
It looks like the memory is bad but that's probably not true for the
following reasons:

No, I did not perform a fresh install. I used the previously installed Ubuntu
10.04 and 11.10 since I assumed they would be able to detect the new hardware
and install the required drivers.

David, the "bash-completion" package is installed. The completion works
normally for "bash" but not for "apt-get".
The file /var/cache/apt/pkgcache.bin exists and its size is about 36MB.
I ran "apt-cache gencaches" as root but nothing changed, the comletion
is still missing for "apt-get".
