With 2.6.28 series kernel I found "Warning! ehci_hcd should always be loaded before uhci_hcd and ohci_hcd, not after" in output of `dmesg` so I rmmoded all *_hcd modules and modprobed them in correct order. So far the problem seems to be gone (testing 2 days). Can anyone confirm? -- ehci_hcd modu

External HDD using USB 1.1 is practically useless. Similarly for digital cameras, mp3 players, scanners, etc. Noone wants to wait hours for their music to get to the player on ubuntu especially when everything is OK on windows. Both USB 2.0 and suspend&resume are essential these days for ubuntu. -
