It seems to have a variable rate of occurence depending on the game.
Kerbal Space program for example flashes like a strobe light, while
Battle for Wesnoth has infrequent flashes. If there is any way I can
document this better to help out, let me know.

This may be unity or gtk related, don't really know yet. The desktop is
offset about 300 pixels to the left and about 100 from the top of the
screen, other erratic display in the offset area.

Latest lib
llibcanberra was one of the morning updates, I suspect the problem may
lie there. Running firefox with sudo still works and does not generate
the error, is there a way to get apport reports working through this
route, or by shunting it somehow through konqueror?

I am still getting this bug in the beta version... it has persisted
since I installed Alpha 5. I had this working under Gusty... so I
disappointed by the regressive behavior... hoping someone finds this bug
