It has been a long time now since I saw the problem with the default
repos version but have upgraded to this new proposed version just to

in the repos though rust-virtiofsd-dev is available.
Sharing of folders works well on my Xubuntu-24.04 systems simply by installing

I have seen the problem with firefox tabs crashing in the .deb installation
and when running direct from the downloaded .tar.bz from Mozilla.
Firefox opens but tabs show error saying "Tab crashed"
This has forced me to use the snap version which works fine though I prefer not

I found this bug by accident and enlarged my settings-manager window to display
5 columns of icons instead of the 4 that showed before.

Adding to my report at #10, I replaced my daily current iso with daily pending
and tried again using KVM/QUEMU and virt-manager.
This time I noticed for the first time, an option to boot using UEFI firmware
and at last the installation was a success.
It looks as if the iso boots in UEFI mode by
zsync from the "current" to "pending" daily iso and choice of UEFI in
the virt-manager configuration for creating the KVM virtual machine has
now booted successfully.

Xubuntu-16.04 using kernel 4.4.0-92 and it has so far not stopped running.
My /etc/cups/cupsd.conf has the "WebInterface Yes" entry but so far no problems
at all, though I had no problems with the cups-2.1.3-4ubuntu0.2
The package 0.8.9-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 from xenial-proposed also fixed the bug for
me in Xubuntu 16.04.
I had already successfully tried and used the 0.8.9.1_amd64.deb from the zesty
17.04 repos, but so that I can remain with xenial repos I will now be using
this version from proposed repos.

I had the same problem as Camilo Gonzalez in post #5, on a netbook with Atom
270 cpu and Intel 954M graphics.
Solved by booting with nomodesdet option from the grub menu to get a low
resolution GUI and then installing the xserver-xorg-video-intel package.

I installed a VM in VirtualBox of the 64bit version of Lubuntu yesterday
Mar 18th using the daily iso pending download, and immediately saw this
problem, but not at every boot or login. When it happened I had to
logout and in again several times to get to a usable desktop, as those

new unity-greeter package installed from post 10 above, the graphic problem
seems to have now disappeared completely, and typing the password is still
possible.
This would seem to be a solution to the problem for me.

it has overcome the typing of password problem.
It has added a minor display problem for a second or two after typing
password and hitting enter, with the screen showing a random pattern
instead of the greeter background image

The system simply freezes at the Plymouth screen with Xubuntu/Lubuntu
and coloured dots showing
I am seeing this bug in Xubuntu daily 64bit and 32bit ISO for 18 Dec and
19 Dec 2013.
The files are booted direct from ISO files using grub-2 which I
manually installed to a USB flash drive, and which works without fault
to boot the system. I get to a login screen very quickly and using the

Same problem here, occurring at exactly the same point of the install on a
Sempron 2400+, ATI 9200SE with open source driver, and 2GB ram.
I have tried installing from live session and direct from the first menu; same
problem with both methods.
ISO file md5sum checks out OK as does the burned DVD
Would it be better to use xfce4-power-manager in Lubuntu.
I run 11.04 at the moment and gnome-power-manager did not work at all,
but removing the reference to it in
/etc/xdg/lxsession/Lubuntu/autostart, @gnome-power-manager,
installing xfce4-power-manager and replacing that with a line for xfce4

Exactly the same problem showing here, with an ati 9200SE card and a new clean
install of Ubuntu 9.10.
I have tried the fix of making a new /etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf, with the
following content:-
##enable KMS Radeon
options radeon modeset=1
and then running sudo update-initramfs -k `unam
