Hi,
Apologies for this, but I am not an Ubuntu Desktop user.
I do, however, frequent a few Linux forums and try to help people out on
occasion.
Recently there's been a spate of people reporting Network-Manager in
Ubuntu having wrong settings after an install.

Issue was with a 12 x 500GB PATA RAID5 array on Ubuntu 32bit
Relevant hardware on box is completely different today

However I can't help but worry that this will cause hard-to-narrow-down issues
for other types of programs as well
(esp. with the work going on to include commercial apps - seemingly unintrusive
changes to the packaging breaking stuff, with no easy way to debug)

for stuff on the LiveCD)
But perhaps some sort of flag needs to be added to debs to toggle whether
images are optimised?

It's been years since I set the NFS up, so I'm a little rusty
but re-reading up on it, seems a root owned export dir with sticky bit combined
with the root_squash is a security feature
disallowing client root from having root priv's on the server
setting the top-level export dir as root-owned and

When using Nautilus in List View,
Nautilus window hangs while gathering sub-folder information
Until all sub-folder info is obtained:
- User unable to advance further down folder tree
- User unable to goto parent fold
This patch to Wine works perfectly
I can successfully run WoW, Ventrillo & any number of native apps at the
same time
Can we please get this patch into the main wine1.2 package? as the
pulseaudio driver for Wine fixes all the little problems I had

Nautilus' opening behaviour is inconsistent when running separate
X-Servers
Certain nautilus menu items, when activated on X-Screen 1, will open on
X-Screen 0 instead
On X-Screen 1,
Places > Home Folder
Places > Desktop
and
Places > [partition name]
will display on X-Screen
