When shutting down my laptop there is a delay before the laptop actually shuts
down. According to the output on the screen (after log out has occurred) the
system is waiting for crash-report to finish.
After the next boot I looked in /crash and found _usr_bin_xfdesktop.1000.
Testing Xubuntu 18.10. Printer installation went fine. First print job
started fine as well. Then the crash occurred and the print job stopt
halfway through.

I clicked on one of the links which referred me to the bug that was

I can reliably reproduce this by
- starting mate-calc
- typing in 8*8
- press enter
- display shows 64
- on the calculator keyboard click: x2, square root sign
- press enter
- crash
(tried starting with 10x10; also results in crash)

I am sorry: after experiencing this mounting problem I experienced many
other problems as well. Therefore I decided to do a clean install, which is
running as I type this.
I realise now that this is not helpful for this particular issue.
In short: I can't provide the log files as requested.
