engine. Some PKCS11 modules, like Netkey TCOS 3.0, do not support setting
the password in the ENGINE_load_private_key() call.

Chap authentication fails?

I tested your scenario with Ubuntu version 12.04 and could not reproduce
the described behavior.
I successfully connected with PPP chap authentication to the publicly
available VPN www.britishtvanywhere.com.
Here is the corresponding log:

Whoopie, adding to the current ppp package would be an even better
solution. In fact there is no need for a new package, guess I did some
thing wrong when opening tis bug.

The package l2tp-ipsec-vpn 1.0.6-1 (for which I also requested a FFe)
depends on version >= 0.9.8 of this package.
I applied all tests available against the version in PPA

I requested synchronization because the new version has several bugfixes
that are crucial. Without those, the software renders almost useless in
precise distribution.

Hi Julian,
I've implemented a workaround for the xl2tpd IPPARAM bug in version
1.0,6. So, with this version it should be possible to use the newest
xl2tpd version (that one delivered with precise distribution).
Tell me if it is not working anyway!

Could you please check out this version to see if this it solves the
issue ?
Unfortunately the ipparam problem with the xl2tp package continues in
precise, so you still have to downgrade it version 1.2.7

It is now also available in ubuntu precise
(https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/l2tp-ipsec-
Mathieu, yes I'm still working on this package, it is available at

(see also comment #20).
I also uploaded it to http://revu.ubuntuwire.com/ and I'm currently
waiting for some one to review/advocate it.
