This is a HP OmniBook 6100. The Graphics Card is "ATI Technologies Inc
Radeon Mobility M6 LY". I think my problem is resolved. There is a
setting under -

Public bug reported:
I upgraded to 9.10 and now 1024 X 768 display problems where parts of
windows disappear. I had to change to a display ratio of 800 X 600. And
still having issues.
