I can confirm this bug in feisty for me.
I can't work in OpenOffice spreasheet at all!!
It crashes every time.
The simplest way to reproduce the crash:
1) Run openoffice
2) Create new spreadsheet
3) Input any symbol in any cell and hit enter
4) get a crash

Try the solution with relinking /bin/sh to /bin/bash.
It solved the problem for me ;)

As far as I can remember I solved this problem by removing all
"dot"-directories (not all but everything about kde) from my home
directory.
I repeated the steps to reproduce the problem on my current system
(Edgy) and did not get trash now.
The problem is solved, I think.

Yuriy, you're right.
It was a zero-sized panel.
On fresh install of Dapper and Edgy this panel has normal size by default.
Bug may be rejected or closed.
