let me show you steps which I did. Right after curtin installation
(which fails see error in the first message of the thread), there are
the following options in debconf for grub-pc:
# debconf-show grub-pc
* grub-pc/install_devices_empty: false
* grub-pc/cloud_style_installation: true
* grub-pc/in

As I wrote above, if I set cloud_style_installation to false and run
`dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc` - it passes without errors, but it seems
grub-install isn't executed in this case and I can't boot the node in
the end.

Hi Chris, thank you for the reply and advices. I executed the command on
the node where I am trying to run curtin. Please let me know if you need
more information.
