"g_thread_init()" inside the package "pidgin-skype". As of the official
glib documentation [1], the function is not needed anymore and it is
deprecated from version 2.32 on, and apparently is disabled when
telepathy-haze and empathy try t
I tried to use apport, but it didn't produce any ".crash" file. It is
however quite reproducible, both with Unity 2d and Ubuntu Classic.

This is a patch to the package indicator-me, version 0.2.6-0ubuntu1 (the one
present in Lucid).
It stores (separately) the status messages of Pidgin and of Mission Control,
i.e. of Empathy, and it resets them at each status change through the FUSA.
It works well with Pidgin, since "indicator-me-

A simple workaround is to do an "Undo" after having changed the 'From'
address.
This still happens on Lucid, with evolution 2.28.3-0ubuntu9

My notification area is growing too and it seems to be caused by pidgin.
I've configured to show an icon only when I have a message, and after
some appearing and disappearing of the icon, the notification area
begins occupying more and more space, though it is empty, and pushes
other applets and ic
