When you put it like that, that sounds fairly simple and non-intrusive. I’m also
considering the impact as a whole - any new machines I

Version 2.23-0ubuntu11 is currently the latest version (xenial-updates).
Will there be a new, fixed upload? I'm guessing it's only the udeb that
was botched?

Mine's still not working. It downloads

same problem, or if it's my (older) installer image that is the problem.

The patch at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-

all the disconnects.
Everything works like a charm if/when I run wpa_supplicant and dhclient3
manually.

Oups, sorry. Didn't test it throughly! It suspended even if the power
was connected. I only want the suspend when on battery, not on AC. So I
modified it like this instead:
- s n i p -
#!/bin/sh
grep -q off-line /proc/acpi/ac_adapter/ADP1/state
AC=$?
grep -q closed /proc/acpi/button/lid/
I have (had) the same problem with a up-to-date Feisty, but I managed to
find a workaround. I created the file /etc/acpi/local/lid.sh.post with
the following content
- s n i p -
#!/bin/sh
grep -q closed /proc/acpi/button/lid/*/state
if [ $? = 0 ]
then
# Lidstate = closed
/sbin/s
Adding the patch mentioned above and rebuild the modules package work
though...

This seems to have gone when I played with 'synclient' a little more.
One of these commands seems to have fixed this (don't know exactly which
