I can confirm this behaviour on a Dell Studio XPS 13 with the same

THis computer is running Ubuntu 9.10 with all updates:

Informal testing indicates that this problem has gone away with the
latest kernel updates. Now running 2.6.27-9-generic on my thinkpad x40
and the CF card gets mounted correctly after boot and suspend. I'll do
more rigorous testing after christmas.

I can confirm this behaviour on a thinkpad x40. the .Xmodmap is applied
on boot, but plugging in a USB keyboard (in this case an IBM W20-06) the
settings don't get applied to the hotplugged keyboard (but remain
applied on the built-in keyboard).
Running xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap solves that issue, but on

After upgrading to Intrepid Network-Manager can no longer reliably
connect to WPA2 encrypted networks.
I've installed test packages from the network-manager PPA, but that doesn't

Very similar to a series of other bug reports about Nokia phones, the
Nokia E66 is not recognized as a 3g modem in Intrepid Ibex.
However adding "0xb0" to line 347 of

I've done some more tests with my current setup, and if I actually
transfer data to my phone while connected via USB, no matter what
commands i issue, when i disconnect the phone, and try to use the data i

As mentioned, this problem persists after upgrading to intrepid. I now
have a Nokia E66, which is a fairly new model, and hence there is very
little information available as to how this problem affects others.

Here is the output from the above commands on my thinkpad X40 running
hardy. It's worth noting that unlike my x31 on this machine the mouse
battery level is shown at a constant 100%. No more correct than the 14%

OK, I've run the first basic tests after installing
linux-image-2.6.27-1-generic
linux-restricted-modules-2.6.27-1-generic
from the intrepid repo, on a Thinkpad x40 running hardy, the CF card
mounts correctly after boot, and seems to behave exactly as expected.
There are a few other minor niggles
When you write that "the linux-image-2.6.27-* package is currently
available for you to install and test.", is that referring to the
intrepid kernel? I'm happy to test it out, but just want to make sure
i'm downloading the right kernel, and the one in the intrepid repos is
the only one i can find.
I can confirm this issue on a thinkpad x40 with DeLock PCMCIA to CF adapter.
This is with Hardy and 2.6.24-19-generic kernel.

I can confirm this for a logitech codless optical trackman , except i only have
14% battery on mine.
This battery level has been the same for at least a few versions of ubuntu. I
am currently running hardy heron, on a IBM thinkpad X31.
There is an unfortunate downside to this minor issue: Since
after upgrading to hardy heron this problem persists except now i need
root privileges to eject the device, i.e.
sudo eject /dev/sdb
can anyone point me to some documentation for hal, so that i can try and
fix this?

I can confirm this bug, on my Intel Mac Mini, I get the exact same
error. Unfortunately after the latest update, the 2.6.22 kernel fell off
the bottom of my grub menu, and I can no longer boot the computer at
all.

I'm on the current release candidate of gutsy, and have similar issues.
I've had the modem working under feisty and it's now working under gutsy
by using the workaround described here:

After inserting the modem i get what looks like a CD-rom mount. I

I would like to confirm this behaviour on an IBM thinkpad x31, upgraded
from dapper to edgy.
suspending and hibernating blanks the screen (as per screensaver setup)
and starts the "moon" LED blinking, but nothing firther happens. Only
