When I connect to my work vpn the network icon is updated with the lock
icon but VPN in the network menu is still marked as 'off'. The only way
to clear my VPN connection is to click on VPN again but not follow
through with the connection, which disconnects the previous session
before connecting. T
I'm on gnomeubuntu 13.10 and have this issue when I've used a vpn. The
VPN Control never switchs to ON from the OFF state. The network icon
does change to the VPN Icon with the lock but you can never get it to
switch back once the vpn has been switch off.

After further research and trying to connect I was able to connect to my
VPN server. So the answer for me is still valid. I think my issue was
that I was testing my credentials and switching between VPN server
hosts. So what I did below resolved my issue.

4. Install resulting plasma-widget-networkmanagement_0.9.3.0-0ubuntu4_all.deb

Well openconnect > 3.02 is required for plasma-widget-networkmanagement
to include it in the build cycle. So in Kubuntu Oneric openconnect VPN
via the desktop is broken. It's not even listed as a valid VPN to use
because the version of openconnect is to low in universe. I think that's

I am trying to use Empathy to connect to an Company internal Jabber/XMMP
service which is using SSL, which empathy is not able to connect. I
suspect it's due to this same reason. is there some work around I can
do?

Is there some way that this patch can also be applied to KNetworkManager
for Kubuntu? I know that the KDE nm applet is a plasma-applet but it
would be nice to have the changes made there as well. The fix supplied
for the Gnome nm applet work great by the way.. Thanks!
