To add to Stevi's comment, replacing '3stack' with 'auto' is a work-
around that works for me. Maybe this will help identify the real
problem so it may be properly fixed.

I can confirm this bug. Oddly enough, if you set the cursor to blink,
the cursor is transparent but the rest of the window is not.

I to can confirm this bug.
When synaptic is run through the terminal, this error is thrown when
