The idea is to use flash-kernel to cat the kernel image and dtb into one
zImage, which the default u-boot environment can find.
Saving all dtb files to /lib/firmware/ saves space on the (probably) limited
boot-partition...

I think most important is that nobody decided where to install them. For
example *-chromebook is placing these files at
/boot/dt-3.4.0-5-chromebook/ (!).
Seems it also affects other packages:

Today I wanted to build zypper and it was telling me that it can't find augeas
while it was installed, so picked the source package and checked it for files
which are missed to be installed.
These files are missing depending to dh_install:
[...]
dh_install --sourcedir=debi
well, removing only this package does not fix the problem, but purging the full
scratchbox suite did the job.
Never thought that scratchbox might break qemu.

if you want to get the source code from the ppa backed up, you can run
in a term the following:
mkdir pa-backup
cd pa-backup
apt-get source pulseaudio
this only works if you've got the deb-src in your sources.list. if you
added the ppa via add-apt-repository it should be done.
