I have an ASUS P6T motherboard that supports RAID in the BIOS. I set
two 1 TB drives in a RAID 1 mirror array. After the Ubuntu install an
error poped up telling me that grub failed to install. I tried but I
could not get grub to install on my drive.

I never got Linux to work on that machine. Thankfully it will be replaced
soon. Sorry about you difficulty, graphics driver issues can be painful
with linux. The Black Screen of Death is worst than the BSOD. Good luck.

other variation. I tried Xubuntu with in every variation as well with
no success. When I reduced the resolution and color to the lower
setting (using F4) it got far enough to show Ubuntu (or Xubuntu when I
