@ sles: Whenever I notice my rt2500pci's (linksys wmp54g) connection is slow, I right-click the NetworkManager applet on the Ubuntu desktop, deselect "Enable Wireless", wait 2 seconds, then enable it again. This usually works for a couple of hours. Sometimes it's only a few minutes, sometimes more
